Chanting the Divine Office
8 CD Collection
Sr Magdalen Mather osb and Fr Paul Gurr O.Carm
The Divine Office, the official prayer of the Church was once seen as the prerogative of the clergy and religious communities. Now it is more readily available to all.
With its wonderful collection of Psalms, antiphons, hymns, readings, intercessions and reflection, it is prayer, intended to sanctify the various moments of the day.
Sr Magdalen Mather, Benedictine and Fr Paul Gurr, Carmelite here present you with the most simple and revered way of chanting the Psalms of Morning and Evening Prayer for the 4 week cycle of the Roman Breviary.
We have chosen the simplest of the Gregorian melodies to help you become familiar with the beauty of the psalms as you become used to the ancient art of simple chanting. We have also sung the hymns for Morning and Evening Prayer in recognizable and beautiful melodies so that you can take part in them more easily and prayerfully.
